Brico Dépôt and Castorama France to recruit 500 apprentices this year

Kingfisher’s retail banners in France – Brico Dépôt and Castorama – have launched a recruitment drive to employ 500 young people on apprenticeships in 2021. Apprenticeships will be offered at all levels, in a wide variety of roles: from sales to logistics and support functions. Positions will be available in stores across France, as well as their head offices in Longpont-sur-Orge (Brico Dépôt) and Lille (Castorama). They will join over 4,000 young people* who are already employed across the two companies, including 1,200 current apprentices (*under the age of 26).

Spending more time in the home during the coronavirus pandemic has changed people’s relationship with the home, with more French people seeing their homes as a refuge. It has also encouraged them to do more DIY (up 13% in 2020 according to the FMB and Inoha) and inspired younger generations to try their hand at home improvements. The apprenticeships will help to strengthen Brico Dépôt and Castorama’s teams of the future, while supporting a group of the population which has been hit hard by the crisis.

Under the Powered by Kingfisher strategic direction, each retail banner has built its own inclusion and diversity plan specific to its market and demographic. The apprenticeship scheme for Brico Dépôt and Castorama is part of their local inclusion and diversity plans. It is hoped that 50% of the apprentices will remain in employment with Brico Dépôt and Castorama at the end of the programme, with an even split of male and female colleagues.

Applicants can submit their CVs to the Brico Dépôt and Castorama recruitment sites or contact their nearest store.
