Kingfisher plc, the international home improvement company, today announces the appointment of Sue Harries as Group E-Commerce Director.

Sue joins from Screwfix, a Kingfisher Group company, where she has served for 15 years, most recently as Director of E-Commerce.

During her time at Screwfix, Sue was integral to the growth of its digital proposition. Online sales increased by 80% during her tenure as Director of E-Commerce and over a third of all Screwfix sales are now transacted online.

In this new role, a key part of Sue’s responsibilities will be to significantly drive ecommerce sales across the Group.

JJ Van Oosten, Chief Customer and Digital Officer at Kingfisher, said: “We are always especially proud to promote colleagues from within the business, so I’m delighted to announce Sue’s new role. She has played a key part in growing Screwfix’s digital channels, and now the full Group will benefit from her drive and expertise.

“Sue is a great example of how we nurture talent at Kingfisher, rising through the ranks at Screwfix supported by leadership programmes and secondment opportunities.”

Sue Harries, Group E-Commerce Director at Kingfisher, said: “Our customers love shopping in our stores and online, so providing a seamless experience across all of our digital channels is really important. We achieved this at Screwfix and I’m excited to build on this success in my new Group role.

“My priority is to create a diverse team with the right balance of skills and talent to drive our digital capabilities and ecommerce sales forward, together with our retail banners. I can’t wait to get started.”

Sue joined Screwfix as a Senior Commercial Finance Manager in 2005 and has completed the Kingfisher Advanced Leadership Programme, delivered in conjunction with the London Business School, as well as a retail secondment. Prior to Screwfix, she started her career as a qualified accountant and held senior finance roles at Peacocks & AXA.

Sue assumes the newly defined Kingfisher Group E-Commerce Director role as of 2 March 2020 and will be based at Kingfisher’s head office in Paddington.
