Introducing: our unique bathroom furniture range

In 2017, we began rolling out a new range of bathroom furniture that is unique to Kingfisher. To develop the range, we undertook in-depth research into how people use their bathrooms, including visiting customers in their homes across Europe.

We learned that:

  • The bathroom is the smallest room in the house (4-7m2) and the busiest
  • Three quarters of homes have only one bathroom
  • Storage is a problem – people typically have around 25 bottles of shampoo, shower gel, etc
  • Updating a bathroom is a challenging home improvement project - around 40% of people give up
  • People want products that are easy to clean, durable and affordable

So, we set about creating a range with solutions to meet these needs, as well as meeting our five key design principles: function, form, sustainability, quality and low prices.

The result is our new Imandra range. It incorporates smart solutions to store everything people need in the bathroom, making the most of every inch of their space from floor to ceiling. The range includes the following features:

  • Modular and adjustable to work with any bathroom layout, however small
  • Slim, floor-to-ceiling cabinets to maximise all available space, even behind doors
  • 35cm deep drawers, deep enough for towels
  • Shallow basins with recessed waste pipes, allowing space for an extra drawer underneath
  • Wall cabinets with mirrors inside and out, so two people can use them at once
  • 10-year guarantee

The range is available at Castorama France, Castorama Poland and B&Q, with positive customer feedback so far.
