As we transform our business, we need all our colleagues to feel energised and excited to play their part. We have already started to engage our leadership populations in making our strategy more robust, and, in the year ahead, will involve more of our colleagues in testing, delivering and implementing our ambition.

In 2016 we achieved the Gallup Great Workplaces Award, one of just 35 companies worldwide to receive the prestigious accolade. We achieved an overall (GrandMean*) score of 4.2 out of 5 in the 2015 Gallup Q12* employee engagement survey, where over 4 is considered excellent. We achieved a significant response rate of 87%, with 62,000 colleagues taking part.

In May 2016 Castorama Poland received the “Investor in Human Capital” emblem from the Foundation of Management Observatory in Poland. The programme is one of the best known in Poland and was awarded in recognition of their human resources policies and approach to employee engagement, based on the results of an independent employee survey.

Brico Dépôt Spain has topped the Best Workplaces Spain 2016 list, in the category for companies employing over 1,000 people. It is the first time that a retail brand has topped the ranking in Spain, and the fifth consecutive time that Brico Depot Spain has appeared in the list.
