Press release:
Kingfisher shortlisted for Responsible Retailer of the Year award
28 June 2011
Kingfisher has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Responsible Retailer of the Year category of the 2011 Oracle World Retail Awards.
The international award scheme promotes innovation and creativity from retailers across the globe. The finalists are selected by a panel of expert judges. The winners will be announced at the World Retail Congress on 27th September in Berlin.
The Responsible Retailer of the Year category recognises retailers that are setting world class standards of best practice in corporate responsibility. Kingfisher is developing a new sustainability vision through to 2020, which includes four key sustainability priorities: innovation, energy, timber and communities. Ian Cheshire, Kingfisher’s Chief Executive, is championing work to create a sustainable business model for the long-term and pioneering a move towards more sustainable patterns of production and consumption.
Earlier in the year, B&Q UK was highly commended at the UK specific Retail Week Awards in the Responsible Retailer of the Year category.
