B&Q China and Castorama France both participated in WWF’s global Earth Hour, an initiative for millions of homes and businesses to turn off their lights from 20.30 to 21.30 on 27 March to make a stand against climate change.
Castorama France switched off all neon lights across its stores during the one hour campaign and produced a leaflet for employees about Earth Hour and the key actions the company is undertaking to reduce its impact on climate change. Castorama also donated 1,600 candles to WWF France which were lit to form a giant 60 at the base of the Eiffel Tower during Earth Hour.
B&Q China also participated to raise awareness of climate change amongst its employees and customers. The team switched off the lights in its Shanghai head office and all 41 stores across 19 cities. B&Q China produced posters and point of sale in store to highlight its involvement in the campaign.
