B&Q Receives 'Age Positive Retailer of the Year' Award

In September 2006 B&Q received the 'Age Positive Retailer of the Year' award in the People in Retail Awards, run by The Retail Bulletin. B&Q was recognised for leading the way with its positive employment programme, which encourages people of all ages to join the company.

For more than 20 years, B&Q has believed its customers, stores and offices benefit from a mix of all ages working together, to provide the best in new ideas and experience. With a total workforce of 38,000, nearly 25% of B&Q staff are over the age of 50, effectively balanced with 20% of staff being under the age of 24.
