Needelp? New handyman service at Brico Dépôt

From April 2017, non-professional customers across France can use Needelp to find local handymen to help them bring their projects to life.

The service was first piloted in 2015, and allowed Brico Dépôt to assess customer demand, as well as optimise the service and partnership before national roll-out. The first trials showed a real demand from non-professional customers, as well as a keen interest from store colleagues.

Needelp is a service that helps customers to find a handyman for their project in less than 24 hours. Services available include handiwork, painting, electric fitting, and plumbing among others; the platform also allows people to register as ‘jobbers.’ Jobbers are verified by the Needelp team, and are rated after each customer interaction; insurance is also included and was an essential requirement for customers. Customers can access the services via both the Brico Dépôt or Needelp websites, and then posting their request online.

The partnership complements the Brico Dépôt services already available for customers - the loyalty card, click-and-collect, and rental vans - and helps the Brico Dépôt to support its non-professional customers through every stage of their home improvement project. This is just one of the ways we are modernising our business and updating our digital offer through strategic partnerships to make sure our customers have access to services they really need - bringing us closer to our ambition of making home improvement accessible to everyone.
