Forest partnerships at Brico Dépôt Iberia

Our companies are exploring how new local supply chains can support environmental restoration and supply chain resilience.

For example, through partnerships with local NGOs, Brico Dépôt Iberia is helping to protect local forests and open up new sources of timber products for its stores. Six forest projects have been launched so far, involving employees from its stores and funded by sales of the Brico Dépôt reusable raffia carrier bag. Each project has a different focus, including enhancing biodiversity in a forest damaged by fire, tree planting and engaging local school children in forest conservation. It launched its sixth forest project in 2015/16 in Spain which saw employees volunteer to improve a forest at Monte Cabeza de Hierro, Madrid.

A new range of sustainable cork products from one of the forests has been on sale in Brico Dépôt stores.
