Zoe Thomas Manager, Screwfix
Zoe manages the West Bromwich branch after starting her Screwfix career in 2009, as a supervisor at the Dudley branch before moving to an Assistant Manager role at the Wolverhampton branch. She is also a graduate of the Screwfix Fast Track Scheme.
In 2011/12 Screwfix welcomed over 1,232 new starters aged between 16 and to its trade counter and head office teams.
In fact, over 55 per cent of Screwfix's new recruits in 2011/12 were aged 24 or under, and this number is expected to increase further as the retailer continues its rapid branch expansion programme.
Jan Maggs, Head of Human Resources, at Screwfix, comments:
“Our commitment to youth employment is reinforced through our Fast Track scheme, which enables our young employees to undertake a comprehensive training programme and achieve store manager status faster. What's more they gain a City & Guilds level 3 in Retail Management on completing the scheme. We have already promoted 37 members to store manager positions through the scheme.”
